  2. Malo e lelei Brendan,
my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with Ako Hiko bloggers over the summer break.

I love the way you have described the journey and your surroundings in your letter to your friend. It scared me for a moment to think about the big humpback whale travelling beneath your waka in the dark waters. I am curious about the person behind you, maybe you could explain who they might be.. Perhaps next time you could use Canva to create your letter, I think it would make it look really awesome.

I know if I wrote a letter to a family member or friend it would be really hard to write, I’m not the best at saying goodbye so I’m sure it would be covered in tear drops and unreadable! Even so, I would definitely talk about the sights I see, how much I miss them and how I feel about going to a new place to start a new life. Have you ever written a letter to someone in real life?

Toe feiloa’i fo’i ('See you again' in Samoan),

    Cia.

  3. Hi Brendan,

Cadence here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

Ka pai, a very well construct letter to your dear friend Teagan. I love how you have written it in a formal manner. Definitely fits the time it would have been sent. A very descriptive piece of writing Brendan, well done.

I can’t wait to read more of your blog posts!

    Cadence :)

  4. Kia ora Brendan,

Its me Toeumu. I love your letter Brendan, it is so interesting. I can tell Tegan is your friend Brendan. Maybe next time you could add a little more detail.

This reminds me of when i watched the survivor, and they read there letters from there family because they were on a island for ages. Do you like writing letters? Good luck on your activitys over the summer.

    Looking forward to more posts.

    Toeumu :)
